BADAK FESTIVAL
The Adlaw sa Aurora is a communal celebration involving carefully planned programs outpouring of respect, rejoicing or high revelry, handled by the Local Government unit in cooperation with the eight (8) various organizations in the municipality as the sponsoring groups. The celebration differs from religious festivals in that the focus is not on the significance of the rituals of holy days of a particular faith but on the public honoring of outstanding persons, the commemoration of important historical or cultural events that marked the humble but cherished beginnings of AURORA.
The festivals of many ethnics groups are credited with the preservation of unique customs, folktales, costumes and culinary skills. An interesting recent development was the merging of the arts, lore and custom of the tri-peoples of Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur in the cultural festival known as "BADAK".
The LGU plays the key role in this celebration, which stresses unity, responsibility, purpose, creative and faith.

BUKLOG FESTIVAL
"BUKLOG" rites arose for three (3) reasons: first; because of the anxieties of the early Subanens who did not understand the forces of nature, wished to placate them; second; the festival also provided an opportunity for the elders, to pass on folk knowledge and the meaning of the tribal lore to the younger generations; lastly; to heal those believed to possessed by bad spirits.
The ritual remains unaltered for generations, except the use of materials for the ritual hall, due to DENR's log Ban Laws.
Because of financial constraints, "BUKLOG" is celebrated every ten (10) years. The celebration started from the day the tribal folks set in acquiring all the materials needed for the construction of the hall where the ritual was performed.
For the participants, the ritual was a tonic. For the observers they offered a novel experience. "TOMOAYs" (equivalent in rank with the Catholic's Bishops) play the key role in this celebration, which stresses tribal and cultural self-determination, responsibility, purpose, creativity and faith.
